About Us

Virtutone Networks Inc. is a publicly traded company on the Toronto Venture Exchange (VFX) that specializes in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP) applications. Virtutone provides the complete VoIP and FoIP solution including: IP voice lines, IP fax lines, analog voice lines, analog fax lines, hosted PBX, on-site PBX, call center applications, all calling features available and many more communications solutions to meet the demands of any business. Virtutone continues to develop new technology to reduce communications cost for any business.

Virtutone Networks Inc. has been providing commercial grade VoIP for more than 7 years. Virtutone has developed a proprietary VoIP solution specifically for satellite Internet. Due to the high latency, jitter and packet loss over the satellite Internet connection, it is considered the worst case scenario for a high speed Internet connection. If we can do it over a satellite, we can do it anywhere on Earth.

Virtutone Networks Inc is a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange under the symbol VFX-V. The original company, SatFax Networks Inc, was incorporated in January 2007. Driven by customer demand, SatFax was formed expressly for the purpose of delivering a 100% reliable Fax over IP solution. The development of this transporter system enabled the use of existing fax machines over any IP - network – even satellite.

The founders had worked cooperatively for several years offering VoIP services to oil and gas exploration companies, forestry & fire fighting departments and other businesses/organizations across North America. Their clients at remote work sites, support camps and bases were vigorously demanding a 100% reliable faxing solution. The founders took it upon themselves to develop a solution that met the demands of the market.

While the original intent was to offer a product to be sold in the remote communications industry, once developed and proven, Canada’s major telephone and cellular companies began to recommend the SatFax service to their clients through a national Value Added Reseller (VAR) channels. Not long after that recognition, VoIP companies began to see SatFax as an opportunity to complete their IP offerings by removing their customer’s need to keep the old phone company around.

In June 2008, the company name officially changed to Virtutone Networks Inc and SatFax became the name of the fax transporter product. Virtutone Networks will remain committed to developing even more ‘common sense’ product offerings to the IP industry and is preparing to enter the international marketplace.
